EIGENART
From Coal to Glamour. The Final Act.
Beautiful women are Ulrich Pracht’s goddesses. To them and their beauty belong his deep love and adoration, and for them, he rolls out the red carpet once more: Lara and Tammy, Heidi and Claudia, Elvira and Roswitha, Naomi and Marlene—and all the others. For Ulrich Pracht—the boy from humble beginnings—the doors to the TV studios also opened wide. A parade of international stars and celebrities began to unfold in the glare of the spotlights: Udo and Caterina, Otto and Adamo, Alice and Ellen, Ivan and Les—followed by many more.
A final change of scenery. The gaze turns toward Ulrich Pracht’s gardens, where nature displays the full extent of its artistry. "Nature possesses an immense treasury of forms and colors," says the artist. "For me, it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration—a realm governed by its own aesthetic laws and a unique quality of light. By working in tandem with the camera, I was able to create images imbued with a mysterious aura—works that shimmer somewhere between painting and photography. For me, photography is painting with heart and soul, with both emotion and intellect." Every one of his images, Ulrich Pracht explains, is preceded by a specific concept—an idea, a vision, or a reverie. Nothing was left to chance—even though, on set, he cherished those spontaneous "seize-the-moment" instances. "My staged images—whether photographs or 3D installations—first took shape in my mind before I brought them to life. My ideas served as references to the Zeitgeist, while simultaneously weaving my own compelling visual narratives. In these staged photographic reveries, I strove to achieve a balance between a fantastical reality and a commercially viable one. With a deep love for detail and décor, I transformed my entire set into a theatrical stage design. Styling, makeup, and hairstyling—along with the careful curation of props—completed the preparations before I finally picked up the camera." In a final anecdote, Ulrich Pracht recounts the story of a shady client who, during a trip to Saudi Arabia, smuggled alcohol through customs under highly adventurous circumstances—before the two of them posed for a photograph in front of an oil rig, clad in white kaftans and holding a suitcase stuffed with dollars. Recognition, glamour, and money—the hero has achieved it all. The curtain falls—or perhaps it is a massive red muleta. Once more, the jeweler steps forward, bows gratefully to all those who accompanied him throughout his successful career, and makes his exit.
